Certified Ethical Hackers Are Here

Four Diploma in Infocomm Security Management (DISM) students are the first in DMIT to be Certified Ethical Hackers.

Four Diploma in Infocomm Security Management (DISM) graduating students from School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology (DMIT) were in the Infocomm Security Labs taking the EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) professional certification examination administered by DMIT staff. The intense look on their faces immediately turned to one of relief when the results of their gruelling exam flashed on their screen. They passed the CEH exam!

The CEH Program certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective. A CEH is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker.

The four DISM graduating students, Tan Jun Hao, Tan Rongshun, Lim Seok Min and Ong Jing Rong were the first group of DISM students who took the CEH challenge and aced the examination.

"DISM course curriculum has provided me a strong foundation in IT security. With this strong foundation, it has placed me in a good position to take the CEH certification." said Tan Jun Hao.

By earning the CEH Certification, students not just gain the technical knowledge and skills in the infocomm security domain, they also earn a professional title that employers recognize and respect.

“We are proud to be the first and only Academia Partner of EC-Council in Singapore. Now DMIT joins other leading academic institutions in offering the CEH training programme to our students. Furthermore, the CEH programme has been accepted into Singapore's National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) Infocomm professional competency requirement list. As such, we are producing graduates that are well-equipped, ready to join and contribute to the infocomm security industry in Singapore.” said Ms Georgina Phua, Director, DMIT.
